Pastor James Werner was born in Wausau, Wisconsin and he grew up in Schofield, Wisconsin.
He was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Schofield.
Pastor Werner is a 1966 graduate of DC Everest High School in Schofield.
He is a graduate of Northwestern College in Watertown, Wisconsin (currently Martin Luther College, New Ulm, Minnesota) and received a BA Degree in 1971.
I received a Master of Divinity degree from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wisconsin in 1975.
His first assignment was to Crown of Life Lutheran Church in New Orleans, Louisiana and Trinity Lutheran Church in Abita Springs, Louisiana where is served until November of 1981. During that time he also helped to organize and serve Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
St. Marks in Watertown called him to serve as pastor in November of 1981. Presently Pastor Werner serves as the Coordinating Pastor and is responsible for administration, outreach and adult discipleship.
He has known his wife, Stevie, since kindergarten. They attended the same church and graduated from the same high school. Pastor & Mrs Werner have two children and one grandchild.
